Want to predict the stability of your heavy fuel oil?

ASTM D7061

Formulaction and Innospec are working together to help improve the quality of your heavy fuel oil.

Formulaction has developed the Turbiscan® as a unique tool to identify and monitor instabilities. The measurement is quick, easy and objective.

Innospec has developed a method using the Turbiscan® to predict the stability of heavy fuel oil and can provide additives to maximise asphaltenes deposition stability.

Heavy fuel oils are becoming more and more unstable due to decreasing quality of crude oils and to more efficient refinery processing. If problems, such as flocculation and sedimentation of asphaltenes leading to sludge formation, are to be avoided, the stability of the fuel needs to be measured accurately and controlled using the appropriate fuel treatment, i.e. stabiliser. In this way, good quality HFO is provided to the end user.

Thanks to the Turbiscan® :

• visbreaker operation can be optimised

• stability of HFO can be monitored easily and quickly (15 minutes per analysis)

• additive treatment to improve the stability of HFO can be optimised

• many more benefits can be gained

Don’t waste any more time in stability tests and ask for your documentation.
